Planet friendly dressing for Kiah & I is easy, we just wear 2nd hand or upcycled (skirt to dress, dress to skirt, jumper to trousers etc.) but Ray is a whole other story. Not a lot of plain black t-shirts in my local charity shops. I was buying Hemp t-shirts, but it isn't exactly cutting down the product miles buying shirts from China. So I was very happy to find similarly priced locally made shirts from a non-irrigated organic cotton farm in NSW. Here is the blurb from the site:The cotton in our ‘Certton’ range of t-shirts is grown in Narrabri, NSW Australia. This cotton is certified organic by the BFA. Certified organic cotton is farmed without the use of pesticides, genetically modified seed or synthetic fertilizers. The soil is built up over the years to retain moisture and fungus enabling in our case the organic cotton to prosper on a dry land (non-irrigated) farm.
They look pretty good too, better than I expected from the product pictures. Link: Organic Cotton Advantage. |

Against a backdrop of skyscrapers and city streets a falling cat twists to briefly land on her feet. For a close up of the cat's slowed down mid air acrobatics click on "replay zoomed in" at the end of the animation. Flash Animation 102K. |

The head is no longer floating in the news forum I have given her a job to do interogating all potential entrants into corporate hell. This gatekeeper's eyes will track you when you move your cursor through her space.
The animated background gif is from the excellent dirtdirt.com |

8th grade students from Lockhart Middle School in Orlando, Fl. USA painted a chair inspired by one of my monkey pics. They did a great job as you can see from the front and side view. |

After 4 days of every form of induction known to medical science I had good strong regular contractions, but the baby was still not engaged and my cervix was only 1cm dilated so I had a Cesarean. C-section went really well, I was home by Monday and Kiah is absolutely gorgeous. All the staff at Randwick Royal Women's Hospital were incredibly supportive and kind. We are completely, hopelessly, unendingly, over-the-moon about our beautiful daughter.
Some birth stats:
Length 52cm, Head Circumference 33cm, Weight 3.4kg, Gestational Age 42 weeks + 3 days.
Some baby pics here.
Edited 25 Sept, 05. Kiah is pronounced K-eye-ah. It is an Australian Aboriginal word (probably Yuin) meaning "from the beautiful place". We discovered after we named Kiah, that there is actually a town called Kiah, near Eden in South Coast NSW. |

Wishing you and your family prosperity, happiness, good health and longevity.
I know I already wished you all Happy New Year of the Monkey but its a 15 day festival so I figure I can do it a few times, and this time there is a new monkey pic to go with my good wishes. |

I came across a great site called Etsy.com where you can buy and sell homemade crafts.
For those into all things DIY & funky craft some other great resources are Crafster, Readymade Mag's forums, Make Zine's Blog and Knitty.com. |

New comic mr Sunny-Side-UP is very, very happy. As am I. In a week I will be wending my way home to Australia via Japan. Woo hoo! and I have had some great feedback on the Flawed Adventure comic series so I have been happily floating around on cloud vague and contented. |
