Online comic strip: I always seem to live in garage_sale suburbs. All this junk, endlessly churning. You move in, wait for what you want to turn up; drag it home. You move out, and push it all back out onto the street. Council clean up is the best. For a few days everyone saunters around, discretely checking the junk for anything desirable. Its beauty lies in its brokeness. I used to be irresistably drawn to the useless and the unwanted. Everything: old appliance, daggy bits of fabric, ex-industrial fittings. I'm pretty much immune now. |
